Edition 27 | September 2019

Greetings from the Mountain Wine Club!

This autumn, we’re celebrating the release of wine from one of the purest and highest-quality vintages we’ve seen in Napa Valley. The 2016 season was almost perfect for growing wine grapes, and the wines produced from them showcase the best of our mountain vineyards.

As a member of The Mountain Wine Club, you have first access to this extraordinary vintage of Mt. Brave and La Jota Vineyard Co. Cabernet Sauvignons.

The 2016 Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon speaks to the magnificence of the 1,600-foot elevation Mt. Veeder vineyard. In 2016, the vineyard expressed a purity of fruit, an intensity of flavor, and a backbone of tannin that combined to show this mountain vineyard at its finest.

Likewise, the richly concentrated La Jota Cabernet Sauvignon exemplifies what Howell Mountain can do in an exceptional vintage. This wine’s texture and depth will allow it to last at least 15 to 20 years, but you can and should enjoy it today as well.

It’s exciting to share these spectacular wines with you, and I hope you enjoy them for years to come.

Peace,

Chris Carpenter, Winemaker

2016 La Jota Vineyard Co.
Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, CA

On the palate, the 2016 La Jota Cabernet Sauvignon has blackberry, rosemary, subtly Asian spice, and a hint of Petit Verdot finishing with a great mid palate weight and earthy tannic structure, there is no doubt you are drinking a Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
