Edition 20 | November 2017

Greetings from the Mountain Wine Club!

We’ve selected two very special wines to share with you this holiday season. The 2004 La Jota Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Anniversary Release not only is hard to find, but is the pinnacle of our La Jota Cabernet Sauvignon production for the vintage. We chose the two best lots of Cabernet Sauvignon to produce a 100 percent estate fruit Cabernet Sauvignon. The Anniversary epitomizes the best of the La Jota Estate Vineyard, and it’s aging fabulously.

The members-only 2014 Restricted Spring Mountain District Syrah is especially exciting for me. Officially, it’s my first Syrah. It comes from a special part of the Yverdon Vineyard on Spring Mountain, where the temperature stays a little cool but offers enough heat to ripen the Syrah. It was co-fermented with Mourvèdre, and then we added a little Cabernet Sauvignon for backbone. I’m super proud of the Restricted Syrah, and I know you’ll love it too.

I hope you share these exclusive wines with family and friends during this holiday season.
