Greetings from the Mountain Wine Club!
Hand harvesting is not the only challenge of our mountain Appellation vineyards. There are also the bears. High on our Mt. Veeder Estate, we have a family of bears with excellent taste that occasionally picnics in our vineyards. We can’t blame them—mountain fruit is rich, vibrant, and full of flavor. It also makes extremely structured wines built to age. With this shipment, we bring you the 2014 La Jota Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2014 Mt. Brave Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon—two exceptional mountain wines from the tasty vineyards of Howell Mountain and Mt. Veeder.

2014 La Jota Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
“It has an opaque purple color, a big, sweet kiss of crème de cassis and blackberry with a touch of lead pencil shavings, vanilla and incense. It is full-bodied and dense, with moderately high tannins but beautiful sweetness and fruit. Drink it over the next 25-30 years.”

2014 Mt. Brave Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
“This wine has [notes of] blueberry and blackberry liqueur, some graphite, a juicy, full-bodied, savory mouthfeel, and excellent purity and underlying balance. This seamlessly rich mountain Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for two decades or more.”
