October 2016

Greetings from the Mountain Wine Club!

Mountain winemaking is not for the faint of heart. It is a rigorous, labor-intensive process that results in incredibly structured wines of unmatched quality. With this shipment, we bring to you two Cabernet Sauvignons that highlight the very best of their Napa Valley appellations—Howell Mountain and Mt. Veeder.

La Jota 2013 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon comes from vineyard blocks that sit at 1,700 feet in elevation. This Cabernet Sauvignon is classic Howell Mountain—full-bodied and well balanced with flavors of brambly blackberry, espresso bean, and gravelly minerality.

Mt. Brave 2012 Mt. Veeder Single Block Cabernet Sauvignon comes from one of the most extreme winegrowing regions in the Napa Valley. This hand-harvested, small-production Cabernet Sauvignon has notes of blueberry and rose petals. Balanced minerality and silky tannins give way to a luxurious finish.
